This Project Plan describes conversion of an old Oil Palm plantation into an organic farm, food forest and farmstead at Lot 5852, at Kuala Kangsar. It attempts to articulate objectives, intentions, requirements and concerns for the various startup activities.
This is a living document. It will evolve as new ideas arise. It is the apex of a collection of associated documents that together define plans and designs for the property.

Create a beautiful food forest on fertile soil, with healthy and productive plants and trees.
Practice Regenerative Agriculture. Improve Soil.
Discover if organic farming can be financially viable.
Practice Conscious capitalism principles.
Develop farmstead production (cottage industry), eg honey production, preserved ginger, etc.
Save Seed. Build a good quality seed bank of heirloom crops.
Grow healthy farm animal in humane conditions.
Practice a healthy and meaningful lifestyle. Eat food that we grow ourselves. Learn about health of body, mind and environment.
Invite people to experience and participate in farmstead projects and to discover the benefits of a simple lifestyle.
The project is executed in 3 phases:
Phase 1 - PREPARATION, 2023 to 2026
Prepare the site for Phase 2.
Phase 2 - COMMUNITY, 2027 to 2030
Build community, develop operations, best practices, achieve financial viability, have a good time.
Phase 3 - THRIVE, 2031 and beyond
Improve processes, replicate best practices, develop spin-offs if possible.

The farm design is based on Syntropic Agriculture practice and is guided by Permaculture Ethics and Principles. We have difficulty with farm design for now.
Plant Mucuna, Vetiver and on the slopes to cover bare soil.
Plant nitrogen fixers and green manure on the slope edge. Mombasa grass on the Terraces.
Apply animal manure.
Waterways and Pond
Existing waterways remain unchanged. Two ponds have been excavated on the property.
Roads and Pathways
The roads and pathways are shown on the site plan.
Fence
A suitable fence is crucial for the property.
The fence will be built in stages.
Vegetable Growing
Vegetable Growing is a fundamental activity of this project.
Vegetable Beds are located in Sectors 3 and 4.
Vegetable growing started in mid 2026.
A nursery must be established nearby.
Nursery
The Nursery is being developed. It needs improvement.
Seed Saving
Seeds are crucial for food security.
Seed Saving practice is an important activity for this project.
Develop and establish a Seed Saving program. Avoid commercial seed.
Compost Beds
Compost is necessary for improving the soil. Make Compost near where it will be used.
Tree Line, Sector 2
The tree line is on the bottom of each terrace slope.
Plant the tree line in high density.
Plan for multiple strata.
Start with Mexican Sunflower for biomass and Glyricedia to fix nitrogen in the soil.
Terraces, Sector 2
Mombasa grass on the terraces.
Trees
Identify suitable Fruit Trees to grow at the terrace slope tree line. Decide when to plant them.
Identify Timber Trees for landscaping and building material.
Animal Husbandry
Silvopasture is an important practice in Regenerative Agriculture.
Learn to raise cows, buffalo, goats, chicken, fish, etc.
Develop best practices.
Fodder Crops
Grow various fodder crops for the farm animals.
Homesteading
Identify and develop homesteading activities.
Associates
Associates are people interested in participating in this project and various capacities.
Develop Code of Conduct.
Develop Terms of Engagement.
Hostel
In 2025 we bought two double story terrace houses at the adjacent housing estate. This is used as a hostel for associates.
The Hostel provides safe and comfortable accommodation, a place for communal activities and discussions.
Farmhouse
The Farmhouse is where people work and live. It will be built when finances permit. Construction of the Farmhouse may occur in Phase 2 or even in Phase 3.
The site for a Farmhouse has been identified.
The Farmhouse design must cater for the activities on the farm.
Landscaping around the Farmhouse must be done by 2027. The Farmhouse must be surrounded by large shade trees.
